This Sunday (9/5) after service (4pm, 1 N. Ogden, Chicago), we’ll be taking a Vision Tour through East Garfield Park. A picture is worth a thousand words, and one of the best ways to explain why we moved to Chicago is simply to see the vision - the people, the houses, the businesses, the town.
Afterward, we’ll grab dinner at Wallace’s Catfish House, located at 2800 W. Madison Street in Chicago.
Thanks to all who helped out, brought food and came out to the Cho’s baby shower. It’s always nice when the line between church and family is blurred. Please continue to keep the Cho’s in prayer as the little one could arrive at any moment.
Olivia was the top vote getter, but we’ll see if Paul and Jeanah have a surprise up their sleeves.
This Saturday we will be hosting a fundraising event called Rise for Haiti. Proceeds will go to Churches Helping Churches, which is an organization doing incredible relief work on the ground in Haiti. If you’d like more information, check out this link: http://churcheshelpingchurches.com/
The idea is that the Church is often the social network hub and distributor of goods and services for third world countries like Haiti. By supporting the Church, the Church will be able to help those who are in desperate need.
Thomas Kim, the executive director of CHC, will be sharing about his experiences in Haiti. There will also be live performances and a silent auction. Please spread the word.
